Poll
Question: Do we need a new, stand-alone regulatory agency in order to protect us from another economic crisis?
YES!!  Regulation is necessary, and would certainly prevent another crisis. - 0 (0%)
Perhaps, but couldn't we just strengthen EXISTING agencies instead? - 0 (0%)
Not really sure. - 0 (0%)
I don't think it's really necessary. - 1 (33.3%)
I am opposed to it.  More regulation will eliminate consumer credit options, and will hurt consumers more than protect them.  (Especially if Eric Stein is involved!!) - 2 (66.7%)

I voted its not that necessary. I really wanted to vote for the last one but I really want to see them in action. If they manage to regulate the top Wallstreet banks that led to this mess, then I am not really against that. But if they turn their focus more on smaller problems, then I am bit time against them.

In another post I put how our payday loan company, as small as it is, provides so many jobs directly or indirectly and how all these new rules and regulations by the States are preventing us to provide and make even more jobs! Now if this organization ends up making it harder for us, not only we won't be able to hire more people but perhaps some downsizing.

Now we are financially strong. We are backed by Solomon Finance, which is a Japanse owned company with over 30 years of lending experience in Japan and Asia so I am pretty confident we will make it. But more and more smaller lenders are either going out or changing their models to lead generation companies or check cashing stores not merely as profitable or employable (is that the right word?).  They are the ones that hurt the most by over regulations.
