For the last few months i've been researching into getting into the payday loan industry. It seems like everyone I tell gives me this "you are such an a__hole" face. It seems like opening the industry for discussion just leads to a heated debate, and not debating just leads to people who think im a legalized "loan shark".

You guys have handled this before no doubt right?

hahahaaha

oh the evil eye!! I think it was for that very reason that I came up with the term "sup prime lending industry". I've heard about a million and a half versions..... some worse than the actual term. I think i've heard one person even say "bad credit loans" one time!

anyways. I made a post regarding this a few months back. its in the payday loan news section. go check it out. think theres a link also to my friends blog that touches on this subject.

We have a lot of payday lender clients who refer to their business as "consumer microlending". I have not heard of that term outside of this industry....

there are a lot of misconceptions in the industry.  usually the "Evil Eye" is nothing more than a misunderstanding, lack of credible information or being victim to gossip.  You see the same thing in politics and political races.
I have always looked at this response from those who are ill informed as an opportunity for dialog and educating those who are "Doubting Thomas's" with a little truth i.e.  late payment fees on credit cards are similar to those of the typical PDL fee, Utility disconnect reservicing fees are aligned with PDL fees, a bounced check fee is similar to the fee for a PDL.
Once the truth about finance and fees associated with these similar expenses is revealed, people tend to stop, think and ask more questions.  It's a great way to help educate a public that has been blasted with special interest miss truths and out right lies to support their agendas.

You should call yourself a "Short Term Loan Broker" or something that sounds really boring, dry and complicated like "Unsecured debt procurement manager"
